Wiltshire based coloratura soprano Barbara Gompels graduated from St Mary’s Hospital Medical School London.  Having moved to the South West she became a G.P. Partner in Market Lavington Surgery.

Singing has always been Barbara’s passion, she studied with Geraldine Roche and more recently with Rosa Mannion. 

Barbara now regularly sings Solo for local Opera Groups including White Horse Opera in Devizes as well as Oratorio, Concerts, Cabarets, Weddings, Funerals and Parties either solo or with her friend Paula Boyagis as "Due Voci".

Barbara is thrilled to have just been cast as the Queen of the Night (Mozart’s Magic Flute) in White Horse Opera’s main production to be performed in October 2018 and as Michaela in their forthcoming tour with Bizet’s Carmen.

Barbara has recorded two solo CDs and in 2016, with Paula Boyagis,  completed a recording of "Due Voci".   Please feel free to have a listen in the audio section!
